umati – Connecting the World of Machinery

umati is the global community to promote an open, standardized interface concept based on OPC UA for the machine building and plant engineering industries and their customers. umati fosters the acceptance and implementation of these standards. Our mission is to provide and demonstrate the common user benefit of true “plug and play“ functionality in the field of machinery.

The umati promise: Make connectivity between machinery and software easy, secure and seamless – to help customers exploit added value from data.

umati will be present with an information booth in hall 16/booth F02 — and we will be in good company with umati partners all across the fair. Together with the project partner ISW Stuttgart and representatives of individual manufacturers, we will provide information on all aspects of OPC UA for machine tools and beyond. Of course, the strategic establishment of umati as a global community and unique marketing community will also play a central role.

Exhibitors are invited to visit our booth, experience data connectivity on the shop floor hands-on, and learn who of the 225+ partners of the initiative is present at METAV. Each day at 10:30 and 15:00, experts from corporate partners will come to the booth for visitors to “Meet the Experts“.

“You have to perform each show as if it were your last”. And he’s as good as his word: See Alice Cooper live on 21 June in Düsseldorf! The inventor of “shock rock” will present his current album and perform such classics as “Poison” or “School’s Out”.

How about a trip into space? Hovering below the big glass dome of Ständehaus at a height of over 25 metres is Tomás Saraceno’s giant installation: In Orbit. Those courageous enough can freely move about between the air-filled “spheres” on a slack steel cable net. But the vistas from the ground are just as spectacular!

Painting, graphic art, photography and lots more – those with an appetite for paintings or longing for revelations beyond facts and figures will be in their element here: DIE GROSSE Kunstausstellung NRW brings together artists with (eager-to-buy) art lovers. To the tune of 200 artists cordially invite you to peruse their over 300 exhibits.
