The clamping technology of the future will be increasingly influenced by technical megatrends. New requirements arise due to more complex geometries, higher accuracy, better surfaces, new materials, etc. Additive manufacturing processes are increasingly used, both for the workpieces to be machined and for the manufacture of the clamping tools themselves. Digitisation does not stop at clamping technology either. Sensor technology is finding its way into the toolholder and workpiece clamping devices. The recorded process data is stored, evaluated and further processed on cloud platforms. This also enables the optimisation of running processes. The simulation of clamping concepts is also playing an increasingly important role.
The Clamping Technology Forum, which will take place for the fourth time at METAV on Wednesday, 11 March 2020, will present approaches to solutions and provide valuable food for thought on how clamping technology can help its customers to successfully master the challenges posed by technical megatrends. In addition, the forum offers sufficient opportunity for discussion and exchange of experience
