As a strategic partner for vocational education and training, the Youth Foundation commits itself to the challenges of the continuing need for skilled workers in mechanical engineering. In cooperation with various actors from business, education and politics, the latest knowledge is transferred to vocational training within targeted projects and offers.
At the Youth Special Show, the youth foundation will get in touch with the specialists of tomorrow. A complete process chain from the drawing to the production of a Formula 1 model car is mapped on approximately 600 square meters with the partners of the special show. The partners’ Trainees manufacture the individual parts of the racing car live on site, using the latest technologies and methods for development and production, which pursue Industry 4.0 approaches. During the Youth Special Show, the trainees are available to answer the students’ questions about their technical vocational training and the machines used and act as training ambassadors for our industry.
In addition to recruiting young talent, the vocational multipliers such as trainers and vocational school teachers should also be motivated to deal with the digital transformation and its importance for vocational training, particularly because of the current challenges. Youth Foundation intents to advise and provide impulses and offers tailored support for everyday school and vocational training.
This year’s METAV focus is on digital teaching and learning with the learning platform MLS (Mobile Learning in Smart Factories) as well as the NRW-wide digitization offensive NRWgoes.digital.
