When we set the date for METAV reloaded, we were determined to make up for the METAV anniversary with a successful trade fair and to celebrate the end of the corona pandemic with our exhibitors and visitors. Today, we have to realise that the corona pandemic is not over, that contact restrictions continue to shape our everyday life and that trade fairs are prohibited until mid-January despite all hygiene concepts – without being able to rule out an extension.
Out of concern for our exhibitors, who need a reliable basis for planning as early as possible, and with a view to the health of all those involved, we have therefore decided to cancel METAV reloaded as a physical event and to hold it as a digital-only event in March 2021 instead. You can learn more in our press release, our overview of METAV digital and here on our website. Exhibitors will receive further information as soon as it becomes available to us. We are convinced that we have found a good solution for everyone in the current situation and look forward to the new experience with you!
In the virtual exhibition, exhibitors present their digitalised exhibition booth in their individual company layout. In addition to digital classics such as document download and media library, there is also the possibility of remote product presentations with videos and 3D models or live demonstrations. Avatars at the virtual exhibition booth serve as touch-points for matchmaking.
Exhibitors store their competences, services, product and topic areas in their profile and are brought together with the visitors' areas of interest, talking points, questions and production issues using an intelligent system. Matchmaking learns from visitor behavior during the course of the trade fair visit and uses a Matchscore® to determine suitable contacts.
The METAV web sessions offer a joint forum for information exchange and customer dialogue. Started with a five-day event in June 2020, the web sessions have been held regularly since October and have become firmly established. Every third exhibitor and over 6,000 participants have already taken part in this format.
METAV, the leading exhibition for metalworking technologies in Germany’s biggest conurbation, will be taking place for the 21st time at its traditional location in Düsseldorf. What began here in 1980 has evolved over the last 40 years to become an indispensable part of the technological trends that have affected virtually all aspects of production technology – within a radius of 300 kilometres of the exhibition’s location.
Due to the current developments around the Corona virus and COVID-19, METAV 2020 reloaded unfortunately had to be cancelled. It will now take place from 23 to 26 March 2021 as METAV digital.
So 40 years of METAV have given rise to this sector’s marketplace in the direct vicinity of metalworking manufacturers and users.
