CKD BLANSKO-OS, a.s.

ČKD BLANSKO-OS, a.s. belongs to significant Czech engineering companies with rich tradition. In the modern history after 1945 the most growing was production of water turbines. Together with the main production program from 1951 has been ČKD BLANSKO specializing in the development, construction, production and assembly of heavy-duty vertical lathes, so-called carousels, in a single-column or double-column design. ČKD BLANSKO-OS, a.s. became in 2010 a member of the consolidated unit of ALTA Group. During its existence, the company delivered more than 730 vertical mills to 30 countries in the world. Carousels made in ČKD BLANSKO-OS, a.s. serve as multi-technology machining centres enabling turning, milling, boring, drilling and grinding. Each machine is customized as per specific requirements of the customer and equipped with optional features such as hydrostatic guide-way in X and Z axes, step less controlled W axis of cross-rail and moving table or carousel as Y axis.
Double-column models (type SKD) are designed for work-pieces with the diameter up to 10,000 mm, height up to 5,500 mm and weight up to 450 t.
Single-column models (type SKJ) are designed for work-pieces with the diameter up to 16,000 mm, height up to 6,500 mm and weight up to 450 t.

Besides the production of new machines the company also provides maintenance services and spare parts, including the oldest types of machines. The service department is also engaged in general overhaul of carousels also from other manufacturers.
ČKD Blansko machines are used mainly in the energy sector - production of water turbines and pumps, rotors and generator casings and gear boxes, as well as in heavy machinery and manufacturers of steel processing technology.
